A GWYNEDD sheep farmer is hoping the power of marketing will help him generate a few extra guineas at breeding sales.
Dafydd Jones, of Cefncaerferch, Pencaenewydd, has sent 100 sales packs to producers who may be interested in his prized Texel ewe lamb.
He hopes the packs – which include a leaflet and a postcard – will encourage buyers into parting with a little more cash.
“Out of the 100 leaflets, probably 90 will go straight into the bin,” he said.
“But you only need two buyers to be interested for it to work.”
The ewe lamb, from Dafydd’s Kitrob flock, will be auctioned at the Texel Top Drawer Elite sale at Chelford on August 14.
The Kitrob ewe lamb He reckons it’s the best Texel animal he’s ever had. “We bought her dam, a Claybury ewe, at Shrewsbury last year and she had the best Texel head we’ve ever had on the farm,” he said.
Dafydd selected potential buyers from sales catalogues and breeder directories

This applies to all instruments, not just guitar.
More about this later…
2. Minor Chords
These are easy… just use the minor pentatonic of what ever the minor chord is. E.g. Use D minor pentatonic for a D minor chord, an E minor pentatonic for an E minor chord, an A minor pentatonic for an A minor Chord.
Now, did you notice I used D, E and A minor chords as the example? Did you also notice that these chords are the 2, 3 and 6 chords of the ‘KEY’ of C Major?
More about that later, too…
3. Dominant 7th Chords
You have a couple of choices here. But basically, you would use the relative minor pentatonic, or the minor pentatonic a tone below the root of the dom7 chord.
For example, over G7, you could use either E minor pent (relative minor), or D min pentatonic.
The reason you could use the D minor pentatonic over a G7 chord is because the Dmi chord and G7 chord often go together in chord progressions.

More than 300 youngsters from at least 15 primary schools across Penwith entered a story competition run by The Cornishman.
Write On! asked youngsters to pen tales based on a Wild West theme for the contest sponsored by Penzance bookshop Books Plus and Jacksons Insurance.
There were three categories, with Years 1 and 2 writing a story from the point of view of a seagull, Years 3 and 4 asked to write a mystery adventure set in Penwith, and Years 5 and 6 penning a story based on a Cornish tale.
Entries flooded in ahead of the closing date last month from schools including St Buryan, Connor Downs, St Mary’s C of E, St Uny, St Hilary, Bodriggy, Alverton, St Just, St Ives, Pensans, Gwinear, Gulval, Nancledra, Mousehole, Penpol and St Levan.
A shortlist of six entries in each category is currently being drawn up and each of the shortlisted youngsters will be invited, along with their parents and teachers, to an awards ceremony being hosted by Pensans School on Wednesday (July 14).
Judges on the night will include local children’s and teen authors Chris Higgins and Angie Butler, alongside Cornishman editor Jacqui Walls.
Jacqui said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the number of entries and the quality of storytelling from all these youngsters. There are some very talented pupils out there and it’s going to be a very tough decision to pick our three winners.”
The winner in each category will have their stories printed in The Cornishman and will also receive a cup, courtesy of Jacksons, plus Pounds 25 in book tokens from Books Plus.
